Doctor Blades
A doctor blade removes excess ink from the cylinder surface while leaving ink inside the engraved cells. Blade material, coating, edge geometry, pressure, and position influence print cleanliness, color stability, wear, downtime, and cylinder life.
NNK doctor blades are developed for application-specific requirements through different edge profiles and surface treatments, with the objective of improving printing efficiency and reducing total operating cost.
SepaCera Sharp
SepaCera Sharp combines nickel plating with ceramic content and a mirror-finished edge. Its smoother and sharper edge provides flexible contact with the cylinder and helps reduce blade streaks and print-related defects.
The uniform dispersion of ceramic material improves abrasion resistance and supports a longer service life. Typical applications include flexible packaging, cardboard, and decorative paper.
SepaCera Aqua
SepaCera Aqua is designed for demanding printing conditions, including water-based ink systems. Its special molecular structure and metal-matrix processing are intended to extend blade life in water-based applications.
The coating provides improved anti-rust adhesion and is designed to resist peeling caused by organic solvents or hard brushing. Typical applications include flexible packaging, cardboard, and decorative paper.
Sepa Cera Doctor
Sepa Cera Doctor uses a ceramic-containing surface treatment for stable print quality, sharp doctoring, and abrasion resistance. It is designed to reduce production interruptions and support cost-efficient press operation.
N-Cera Doctor
N-Cera is a conventional ceramic doctor blade for flexible packaging, cardboard, decorative paper, and coating applications. Its ceramic plating is designed to improve printing stability, wear resistance, and wiping performance.
Nickel Doctor
Nickel Doctor uses P-Ni plating. Its stronger edge is suitable for heavy-paper printing, magnetic-powder printing, paint coating, flexible packaging, publication printing, cardboard, and related coating applications.
N-Flon Doctor
N-Flon Doctor uses PTFE compound plating. Its surface is highly water- and oil-repellent, helping the blade wipe ink more easily in flexible packaging, film, decorative paper, and coating applications.
CR Doctor
CR Doctor uses chrome plating with uniform thickness produced through continuous plating. It is intended to improve color distribution, sharpen doctoring, increase press efficiency, and maintain straightness control below 0.15 mm for keyless web offset and coating applications.
Steel Doctor
Steel Doctor is available with parallel and sloped or lamella edge configurations, including single-edged, double-edged, and no-edge versions. It is used for flexible packaging, decorative paper, and coating.
Available Edge Profiles
- Parallel edge for general-purpose printing
- Lamella edge for greater flexibility and resilience
- Round edge for coating and keyless doctoring
- Square edge for coating and related applications
